LEMON GROVE, CA – A driver sustained serious injuries after another vehicle hit his Mercedes sedan and fled the crash scene on State Route 94 early Thursday morning.
According to ABC10 News, the accident happened near Lemon Grove Avenue on State Route 94 around 2 a.m. Police report an unknown vehicle hit the Mercedes causing it to travel off the side of the road onto an embankment and hit a sign. The vehicle was severely damaged.

Police report the driver was ejected from the car and transported to a local hospital for severe injuries. The injured driver’s current condition is unknown.
A witness saw the hit-and-run drivers license plate and local authorities were able to track the vehicle down to the registered owner’s residence. It is unclear if the driver was arrested or what charges they face.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
