NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Authorities were forced to close a section of the Pacific Coast Highway after a vehicle went airborne and flew down the embankment on Monday evening, CBS Los Angeles reports.
Around 5:15 p.m. a silver sedan was travelling northbound near Bayside Drive when the driver lost control of his vehicle. He hit a light pole and flipped over as he flew down the embankment.

It took fire fighters about 45 minutes to rescue the man from his vehicle. Witnesses report that the man was alert and talking to rescuers at the scene. No information is available on the cause of the accident or the man’s current condition.
