LOS ANGELES, CA – A woman was hospitalized on Sunday after she was hit by a falling tree while driving through Valley Village, CBS Los Angeles reports.
The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. as the woman approached West Huston Street. As the tree fell it ripped its roots out of the ground and stretched out across the road.

The victim was able to exit her car by herself and was then taken to the hospital. As of Monday she was still recovering in the hospital and further information on her condition is not currently available.
Neighbors report that the tree had been the subject of concern for some time and looked like it was likely to fall soon.
