Police believe that a black Kia Forte was travelling south on Lasselle Street when it ran a red light and hit a red Toyota Matrix in the intersection.

The driver and passenger in the Kia were uninjured while the driver of the Toyota was hospitalized. Days later, that driver passed away in the hospital.

Police do not believe intoxication played a role in the accident.
