The deceased was riding a bicycle on Frederick street between Willard and Arguello. A driver of a parked vehicle on the side of the road opened the door of his car into the path of the bicyclist.
This caused O’Conner’s ejection from the bike onto active traffic. A passing vehicle then struck him. He sustained severe injuries as a result of the impact.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. However, O’Conner gave up the ghost during treatment. The police are continuing investigations into the crash and are yet to release further information.
