On Tuesday, August 11th, the Napa County Coroner’s Office, released a statement revealing that the woman whose car collided with a Cal-Fire fire engine died. The coroner said that Vanessa Monique Espinoza, 22, died almost a week after the collision in Napa, California.
The victim passed away on Sunday, July 5th, five days after the incident on Tuesday, June 30th. The coroner stated that Espinoza first received treatment at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, before getting transferred to a Solano County hospital.

The spokesman for the county, Henry Wafford, said that the woman died from acute head trauma. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident to determine fault and liability. The spokesman stated that Espinoza’s Toyota Camry collided with the fire engine around noon on Highway 221 at Streblow Drive.
On Monday, August 10th, the CHP revealed that the Cal-Fire fire engine had its red lights and sirens activated when the incident happened. The fire crew in the vehicle were on their way to respond to a fire call in Contra Costa County.
The car accident report placed Espinoza northbound on the highway. The woman was attempting to make a left turn at the signalized intersection onto Streblow. There is no additional information at this time.
