The man behind the wheel of a single-vehicle crash near Vancouver in which two people were injured Friday afternoon has been arrested on multiple charges, according to state authorities.
Twenty-eight-year-old Corey E. Hermance, of Washougal, and his passenger, 23-year-old Morgan S. Bryden, of Camas, were transported to a local hospital after the crash, which occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, according to the Washington State Patrol. Hermance’s was the only vehicle involved in the crash and authorities did not report any additional injuries.

After he was released from the hospital, Hermance was arrested on charges of drug possession and vehicular assault, according to authorities. They did not say whether he has retained the services of a car injury attorney to represent him in court proceedings.
Hermance at about 3:45 p.m. Friday was driving north on Interstate 205 near Washington 14 when he lost control of his vehicle, troopers said. Hermance reportedly drove onto the shoulder, overcorrected and swung back across the lanes of traffic before crashing into a concrete media.
Both Hermance and Bryden were transported to a local hospital after the crash, troopers from the Washington State Patrol reported. They did not provide an updated condition report on Bryden on Saturday evening.
Inattentive driving likely led to the crash, according to authorities. The wreck still is being investigated.
After his arrest, Hermance was transported to the Clark County Jail, where he remains held without bail, online court records state. His next court date is set for Monday morning, though it still is unclear whether he has retained a car injury lawyer to provide a defense.
