28-year-old Cody L. Ulve of Rockfalls would need to hire a top accident lawyer following his arrest for a hit-and-run accident in Whiteside County, Illinois. The Illinois State Police said in a press briefing that they took the suspect into custody on Sunday, July 5th.
According to the ISP investigators, Ulve on Sunday was eastbound on French Street near Yeoward Street’s intersection when his vehicle went off the roadway. He traveled into the right shoulder and struck a legally parked car on the rear driver’s side corner. The owner of the second vehicle was not in it.

The suspect failed to stop and fled the scene in his car. The police located him a short while later and placed him under arrest for driving under the influence. They charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol above .08, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle license.
Ulve is also facing a charge of an illegal lane change, and another for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash. The ISP processed and released him on Sunday with a future court date. There is no additional information.
A hit-and-run accident and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol are severe offenses. Offenders must appear before a court of law, and if found guilty, they are liable to time in prison, a fine, and suspension of driving privileges.
