SAN DIEGO, CA – Officials with the California Highway Patrol say a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 South in San Diego on Wednesday night.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the crash happened around 9:05 p.m. near the exit to Front Street. CHP’s incident log stated a woman attempted to cross the roadway to reach the right shoulder, but was hit by a southbound Toyota. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

All southbound lanes were temporarily closed while authorities responded to the scene. CHP Officer Salvador Castro said the Toyota’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated in the investigation.
