The Cherokee County deputies, Cherokee County, Georgia, on Wednesday, March 18th, arrested the woman who caused an accident on Interstate 575. Carolyn Rampley, 60, caused a road rage crash that ended with the death of Ashley Faucett, 25, and caused injury to her 6-year-old daughter.
The police officers had received a tip from a driver who witnessed the Friday, March 13th, an altercation between the two women. The witness told the deputies that Rampley was driving aggressively on the interstate.

The police had earlier put out a description of the older woman’s car, a dark-coloured Chevrolet sedan, but did not have a tag number. The witness’s call led the police to the Canton resident, and an interview with Rampley and family members in the car with her last Friday gave the officers enough to charge her.
The older driver is facing charges for first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, aggressive driving, and hit-and-run. She was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, and she is held without bond.
The police believe that Rampley intentionally caused Faucett to veer off the road. The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on the interstate near Airport Drive in Northern Cherokee County.
Faucett’s SUV crashed into a tree; paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, and her injured daughter was taken to the hospital for treatment. The police will share updates on the case as events unfold.
