The California Highway Patrol is investigating a car crash that killed two 18-year-old teenagers early Tuesday morning, September 22nd, in Sacramento County, California. The agency identified the two victims as Bradley Johnson, of Antelope, and Christian Buck, of Elverta.
The car accident report disclosed that a Pontiac sedan driven by Johnson struck a tree while traveling west on Elverta Road, east of Northam Drive. The speed and the force of the impact made the car spin, collide with another tree, and reportedly split into three.

The collision ejected the teen driver and Buck from the vehicle, and they died at the scene. The CHP said that witness statements led them to believe that alcohol played a role in the occurrence.
Johnson was a former student of the Center Joint Unified School District, and they are reportedly making counselors available for students and staff as they grieve the loss. There is no additional information.
Even at a minimum, alcohol usage increases the risk of crashes among teens compared to older drivers. According to the Center for Disease Control, drinking alcohol is illegal for drivers under 21. In states like California, drivers below that age must have less than .01% blood alcohol concentration.
Male teenagers between 16 and 19 are more likely to crash than females and have a death rate higher than female drivers of that age. To this end, the center admonishes teen drivers to avoid drinking and driving, and seek other transportation means when impaired.
