A Yorkville man received a six-year sentence for a fatal DUI accident in the Kendall County area of Illinois. In a news briefing on Wednesday, September 2nd, the Kendall County State Attorney’s Office said Bradley A. Anderson, 31, of 0-100 block of Cotswold Drive, would spend the time in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
State Attorney Eric Weis said Kendall County Chief Judge Robert Pilmer handed the defendant’s sentence at a contested hearing on Thursday, August 27th. Anderson pleaded guilty to charges of felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol on February 20th and waived his right to a jury trial.

Weis said that Anderson would serve 85% of his prison term. The man was arrested and charged in December 2017 for the DUI crash that killed Tina M. Turner, 32, of the 2600-block of N. County Road 3853, Sheridan.
According to the accident report, the woman died after the defendant drove his black Cadillac into her car. The state attorney informed the court that witnesses saw the man driving erratically and weaving in and out of traffic on the westbound Interstate 88.
He was close to the Route 56 and Route 47 interchange. Anderson drove at excessive speed, and at a slight turn approaching Galena Road, he crossed into the northbound lane. He entered directly into the path of Turner’s vehicle, and they collided.
Motorists stopped and rendered help to the two, and a blood test at a nearby hospital showed that the man had a .171 BAC, which is more than twice the blood alcohol limit. Weis said that driving under the influence is one of the more detterrable crimes. He noted that no matter the sentence the court gives, it would not bring back those who die.
