BAKERSFIELD, CA – A 72-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car in Bakersfield on Monday morning, local news reports.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near Sunset Boulevard. The victim was attempting to cross Comanche Drive on foot when she was hit by a southbound vehicle that was travelling at 55 miles per hour.

She suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. The 17-year-old driver remained at the scene and is not suspected of driving under the influence.
