Motor vehicle crashes, as seen in accident reports, are the leading cause of teen deaths in the United States. The Center for Disease Control believes that teenage-related accidents and fatalities are preventable if young people follow the strategies put in place for their safety.
These strategies include wearing seat belts as a driver or passenger, not drinking or consuming illegal drugs before driving, and having adult supervision if driving on a major road for the first time. Others are maintaining the speed limit and obeying traffic rules and regulations.
