Motor vehicle collisions happen for otherwise avoidable reasons. Common causes of accidents are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, driving with distractions, running red lights and traffic signs, speeding, and road rage.
Other causes are adverse road conditions, adverse weather like rain, snow, fog, mechanical failure, and animal sightings. Drivers can mitigate these factors by obeying traffic rules and regulations and prioritizing their safety and other road users.
