The preliminary investigation disclosed that the aircraft took off from Visalia Airport around 11 a.m. en route to the Needles Airport in San Bernardino County. The plane was supposed to arrive at 1 p.m., but it never did.

The sheriff’s deputies found the aircraft after 9:30 a.m. in the Eagle Lake area of the park. The investigation into the incident’s cause is ongoing, and the National Transportation Safety Board heads it.

Traveling with an aircraft is one of the safest means of transportation in the world, but when an accident occurs, it has fatal consequences. Due to an airplane’s speed and build, occupants have little or no chance of survival when it crashes.

The factors that lead to a plane crash include mechanical or engine defects, negligence of the air traffic control, adverse weather conditions like a thunderstorm, fog, heavy rainfall, and pilot’s error. The latter is the leading cause of aircraft accidents; thus, plane operators must fly with care and caution, and with a clear mind.
