As a result, his vehicle veered sideways, causing the driver to overcorrect abruptly back into his lane. The move offset the load of metal the semi was hauling, causing it to rest on one side. Due to the uneven distribution of the weight, the vehicle drifted to the right and off the Highway, where it rolled onto its side.

Anthony Hayes, a resident of Memphis, Tennessee, who was riding in the front passenger seat, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. An ambulance conveyed him to an area hospital for treatment. The West Palm Beach driver suffered no significant bodily damage.

Traffic collisions involving large vehicles often results in serious consequences like disabling injury or death. Sometimes, the crash could be between two large vehicles, a large one, and a smaller car, or a solo crash, as in the case of Harvey and Hayes.

Motorists operating such vehicles should endeavor to avoid all forms of distractions when driving to ensure the safety of themselves and other motorists.
