The police said that their preliminary investigation uncovered that a black Hyundai SUV was northbound on Green Valley approaching Paseo when it struck Langton. The HPD said that speed did not play a role in the accident, and impairment is unknown.

The collision led to the closure of the northbound travel lanes on Green Valley and the eastbound lanes of Paseo Verde for about two hours while the police conducted the investigation.

The incident is the fifth accident fatality in Henderson’s jurisdiction for 2020. Anyone with information about the occurrence should contact the HPD on the listed line or call Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.

Auto-bicycle collisions are one of the common causes of crash-related deaths. Bicycle riders must protect themselves from severe and life-threatening injuries by wearing a helmet and ensuring it is fitted appropriately. Wear bright colors to increase visibility, check the bike before riding it, watch out for road hazards, and avoid riding at night.
