The accident report released after the auto-pedestrian collision placed the convicted man behind the wheel of a gray pickup truck. At the time, he traveled westbound on Colorado Boulevard, between Madison and El Molino avenues.
The Pasadena Police Department and the DA’s office said that at about 3:15 a.m., the victim, 31-year-old Anthony Miller, who was visiting from Shoreline, Minnesota, walked across the street. Arceo struck the man and kept on driving.
Officers who responded at the scene canvassed the area around the crash site and spotted a gray/silver Chevrolet Silverado with front end damage consistent with the incident. Lt. Pete Hettema said the vehicle was parked in an underground garage about four miles away from where Miller died.
The police waited for Arceo, who they later found out, was working at a nearby construction site to return. After an interview, they determined he was involved in the collision and placed him under arrest.
