Other details surrounding the incident are still unclear. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office has made available only a few details regarding the crash which took the life of Eliana Kimmerle.

As per these details, a vehicle accident occurred on a private property in a rural section of Alexis off of the 250th Street. Kimmerle apparently sustained critical injuries in the accident. Once the authorities had been notified and first responders arrived on the scene of the crash, she was pronounced dead at the spot. The Coroner’s office confirmed that this was a single-vehicle accident.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was initially handling the case but latest reports suggest that Illinois State Police has now taken over the investigation.

Further investigations may reveal exactly how the single-vehicle crash occurred and whether or not any other persons were injured in the incident. Subsequent accident reports may also reveal whether a given person was liable for having caused the fatal incident which took the life of the young girl.
