The victim of a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred this past weekend has now been identified by the Boone County Coroner. Authorities have identified the unfortunate victim as Albert Graziano, aged 63, of Poplar Grove.
Graziano ran into a fatal accident on Friday. He was traveling on the Illinois Route 76 at the time. Riding southbound on his 2012 Harley Davidson, Graziano had reached the intersection of the Illinois Route 76 and Spring Creek Road. It was then that a 2018 Jeep Cherokee turned northbound and collided with Graziano’s motorcycle.

The incident took place at around 3:00 p.m. Graziano sustained critical injuries in the high-speed collision. As the first responders and law enforcement arrived, he was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. The driver of the Jeep also sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The identity of Albert Graziano as the motorcycle crash victim had been initially withheld by the authorities. This is typically the case so that a fatal crash victim’s family could be notified before the identity is made public. Once the family had been identified, the County Coroner revealed Graziano’s identity on Monday, July 13.
It is not clear whether authorities are still investigating the incident. Accident reports so far do not mention the liability of Graziano or the other driver. Police have also not filed any formal charges against the other driver so far, which may hint that investigations have not been concluded yet. Once investigations conclude, formal charges may be considered if the other driver is found negligent.
