Robinson was heading south on the same roadway, towards Flamingo when he struck the man. Responding medics took the unidentified victim to the University Medical Center in critical condition, but he passed away while undergoing treatment.

The police placed Robinson under arrest after he showed signs of impairment, and they booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges. They include DUI above the legal speed limit resulting in death, and operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle.

The MPD will release the identity of the victim at a later date after notifying his next-of-kin. The death marks the 49th traffic-related death in Las Vegas MPD’s jurisdiction for the year 2020.

Most causes of motor vehicle crashes are avoidable if drivers obey traffic rules and regulations. The latter includes but is not limited to keeping one’s blood alcohol concentration below .08 percent and seeking other means of transportation when impaired. Those involved in DUI-induced accidents should contact a drunk driving attorney.
