The impact left the teenager with severe injuries, and he succumbed to them at the scene. The police revealed that the driver of the vehicle stayed at the collision site and cooperated with officers. They do not believe that drugs or (and) alcohol played a role in the accident.

They are actively investigating the case and have not issued any citations yet. The MPD asked members of the public who witnessed the accident to contact their station’s watch commander on the listed line.

Auto-bicycle collisions are not as frequent as other types of traffic accidents, but when they occur, it mostly ends fatally for the bicyclist. The latter is because a vehicle is more significant and sturdier than a bicycle, and while the former provides a covering for the occupant, the latter does not.

Common injuries associated with auto-bicycle collisions are head trauma, ligament tears and broken bones, fractures, and road rash. Bicyclists can avoid accidents by riding on roadways with less traffic and sticking to the curbs, while drivers should yield the way to bicycle riders and maintain the speed limit.
