The California Highway Patrol arrested 31-year-old Eli Valdovinos for a DUI crash on Highway 178 in the Bakersfield area of California. The accident occured on Saturday night, July 4th, and it calls for a drunk driving attorney’s service.
The CHP said in a press release that before the crash, Valdovinos was traveling about 4 1/2 miles north of H-178 south of Rancheria Road in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup. At about 9:51 p.m., the suspect lost control of the vehicle, hit a berm, and overturned. The impact ejected the man and his passenger, leaving the latter with severe injuries.

Valdovinos sustained moderate wounds and survived, but his passenger passed away at Kern Medical. The investigators determined that the man was driving under the influence and took him into custody. There is no information about his bail, and anyone who witnessed the accident should contact the CHP.
Driving under the influence is a criminal offense under the California Vehicle Code. A driver is guilty of it if he or she consumed an intoxicating substance and then drives a car in that state. The punishment for DUI is time in jail, a fine, suspension of driving privileges, and a compulsory alcohol re-education program.
If an accident occurs and there’s a death, then the offender, in addition to the DUI charge, would face a vehicular manslaughter charge. The best way to avoid the above and the preceding is by driving without impairment, and if impaired, seek alternative means of transportation.
