On Thursday, May 28th, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 18-year-old female teen who tragically died in a solo accident in Flower Mound, Texas. The updated accident reports disclosed the deceased’s name as Zoha Jamal, an Irving resident.
The Flower Mound Police Department disclosed in the preliminary accident report that the young girl’s life ended on Wednesday morning, May 27th. Jamal was driving a maroon-colored car at approximately 11:15 a.m. on 100-block of Flower Mound Road when tragedy struck.

The investigators said that for unknown reasons, the teenager could no longer control her vehicle, and she ended up going across the center of the road. She struck a tree and then collided with a telephone pole. The impact of the crash ejected Jamal from the wrecked car as she had no seat belt on.
The young woman sustained severe wounds that claimed her life at the scene, and the first responders pronounced her dead. The deceased was the only one in her car, and no other vehicle was involved.
Teenage drivers die every day in car accidents. A 2017 statistics from the CDC showed that 2, 364 teens aged between 16 and 19 passed away in the United States from vehicle crashes. It means that six teenagers within that age bracket died every day, with hundreds more injured.
Accident reports show that female teens are less at risk than their male counterparts. Teens driving with passengers their age are more likely to crash, as well as those with new driver’s licenses. The center advises teenagers to drive carefully and put safety above all else.
