On Tuesday, May 26th, an auto accident in Mesa, Arizona, claimed the life of a female driver and one of her passengers. The police in the car accident report identified the two as 43-year-old Melanie Reina Lopez and 28-year-old Michael Norris Jr.
The Mesa Police Department said that victims were in the company of two others coming from Loop 202 and traveling northbound on Greenfield Road. Lopez was behind the wheel of the vehicle, which struck a curb at the extreme of a cul-de-sac. It went up into the air before hitting the ground and overturning.

One of the occupants of the car freed himself from the wrecked vehicle, and the fire crew freed the three others when they arrived. Lopez and Norris sustained fatal wounds, and the medics at the scene declared the two dead.
The survivors had non-life threatening wounds, and during an interview with the police, the passengers said they were initially heading to the Reservation, and thought they were on Gilbert Road. MPD detective Jason Flam said they believed intoxication played a role in the accident but did not confirm it.
A solo vehicle crash involves one car and factors caused either by the driver or intervening circumstances. One of such factors is impairment, which often makes motorists reckless and causes them to drive dangerously.
Authorities admonish motorists to always report car accidents as soon as they occur to prevent adverse legal consequences.
