The vehicle struck a tan Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Robinson. The woman was close to Lyndon Road, and the impact of the collision left the driver’s side wrecked. The female driver sustained extensive wounds, and the medics rushed her to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
There is no update on Robinson’s condition at the time of this report. The police later identified the driver of the Dodge as Darrel C. Neubauer; he was unscathed in the accident. Officers cited the man for disobeying a stop sign, and there’s no information on additional charges.
Accidents of this nature, as seen in accident reports, often end fatally. When that happens, the offender under Illinois law will face a vehicular manslaughter charge, and upon conviction, prison time. The person can also face a civil lawsuit from a victim who survives for personal injury.
When the victim dies, his or her representative can sue for wrongful death. If the court finds the offender guilty, then it would grant damages to the degree of the loss suffered.
