Investigators with the police said that Mersola was riding a bike when he collided with a vehicle. The collision caused the man to get ejected from the motorcycle and land on the roadway. He sustained severe injuries that claimed his life at the scene, and the medics pronounced him.
The sheriff’s office did not state what led to the collision between the bike and the car. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and the police will provide an update at a later time.
Motorcycle accidents occur for several reasons ranging from the negligence of the rider to unforeseen circumstances on the roadway. Accident reports show that they include adverse road and weather conditions, drunkenness, recklessness, and over speeding.
The California Department of Motor Vehicles recommends that riders wear the right gear when riding. A motorcyclist should always have on a helmet that provides eye and face protection, and protective apparels like leather jackets, long heavy pants, fingered full-leather gloves, and over the ankle closed-toe boots.
