Their motorcycle suddenly crashed into the rear of a semi-truck and collapsed. Responding officers and medics rushed to the scene after receiving distress calls. The medics attended to Tristyn, who was unresponsive, and they pronounced her dead.
Her father, on the other hand, suffered severe injuries resulting from the fatal crash. Authorities flew him to an out of area trauma hospital, where he received treatment.
According to accident reports, the authorities are also looking into the possibility that a third vehicle was involved in the crash. While there is no additional information about the crash, the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing with investigations into it.
Motorcycles are very dangerous and deadly. The U.S Department of Transportation’s National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that one is 37 times more likely to die in a motorcycle accident than a car accident.
NHTSA also says that one is nine times more likely to get injured while riding a motorcycle than while driving a car. This is one of the reasons why traffic management authorities advise motorcycle riders always to wear protective clothing and gear when riding a motorcycle.
