– Investigators have publicly disclosed the identify of the motorcycle operator who died in a two-vehicle crash over the weekend near Leverett.
Fifty-seven-year-old Kevin Douville, a resident of Belchertown, was killed as a result of wounds suffered in the wreck, which occurred Saturday afternoon, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. Car accident reports state one other person suffered serious injuries in the incident.

Douville just after 2 p.m. Saturday was driving a motorcycle on Long Plain Road when he crashed into a vehicle as it turned into a driveway. Car accident reports state Douville suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.
A passenger on the motorcycle, whose name was not released by investigators Tuesday, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. However, authorities do not believe the passenger’s wounds are life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle Douville struck, whom authorities identified only as a woman in her 80s, did not list any injuries on car accident reports. The woman stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with investigators.
Investigators have not announced any citations or charges in connection to the incident.
Multiple agencies, including the Leverett Police Department, continue to investigator the wreck. It was unclear from car accident reports available Tuesday whether factors like intoxication, speed or inattentive driving might have contributed to the incident.
Authorities did not say whether additional car accident reports are forthcoming.
