The police said that the car continued until it hit a cement wall; they believe the driver was driving at high speed. Cash, a passenger, was riding beside the driver in front, and he sustained severe wounds that claimed his life at the scene after getting ejected during the crash.
The driver and another passenger identified as a 17-year-old male were trapped in the pickup. They remained there until first responders arrived. The Wellesley Fire Department crew pulled them out, and the medics rushed the two to the hospital.
The driver had extensive injuries, and he succumbed to them while getting treatment. The second passenger is alive with non-life-threatening wounds. The police will not release the identity of the two because of their age.
The report of the car accident did not suggest that another car was involved making it a single-vehicle crash. The Wellesley Police Department is collaborating with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office to investigate the crash. The WPD Accident Reconstruction Unit heads the inquiry.
