The Illinois State Police have released information regarding a traffic accident that occurred at 11:20 a.m. in Williamson County, Illinois. The accident happened approximately a half-mile south of Creal Springs on Route 166. The reports indicate that there were two traffic fatalities.

The preliminary investigation compiled by the Illinois State Police on the April 15 traffic accident indicated that 54-year-old Casey Odum of Creal Springs was driving north on Route 166 in a gray 2008 Chevy 1500. For reasons that have yet to be determined, he crossed over the centerline and into the southbound lane.

Odum collided head-on with a beige 2010 Toyota passenger vehicle that was driving southbound in the same location. The driver of the Toyota, 79-year-old Orson Kramer, and his wife, 81-year-old Judith Kramer, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Kramers were from Ozark, Illinois. The reports did not indicate if the couple was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Odum had severe enough injuries that he had to be care flighted from the scene. No other reports of his injuries have been released at this time. It is unclear if they were life-threatening.

Closures of all lanes on Route 166 occurred for close to four hours while the police investigated the scene. At this time, no charges have been brought forth against Odum. The Illinois State Police are still investigating the traffic fatality accident.
