MakerDao took a massive hit with several zero-bid auctions suddenly appearing. It caused the foundation to accommodate under collateralized debt in the ecosystem of about $2 million. Johnson, who is one of the investors, lost a lot of money.
In the lawsuit, the man alleges that he lost a considerable amount of profit that Maker should have protected. Johnson claims that had the foundation not acted negligently, he would not have lost more than $42 000 or $54 000 at the highest.
The aggrieved man wants a District Court in the Northern District of California to grant him restitution for the loss he suffered, and he wants punitive damages to the tune of $20 million.
Johnson also wants the court to certify the negligence lawsuit as a class action, and he is actively recruiting other investors to join the cause. The investor is banking on the fact that the investors are aware that Maker didn’t do enough to protect their interests, and misrepresented the risk they faced.
