The deceased was driving a 2018 Dodge Charger when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car and veered right off the highway. The man traveled into a Borrow ditch on the lane heading south on US 77, before striking a culvert, and going airborne.

Mcafee’s vehicle overturned several times before it rested on its roof. The young man was not wearing a seatbelt, and he was ejected from the Charger while it turned. He sustained multiple trauma that left him dead, and the medics at the scene pronounced him at about 1:42 a.m.

The Texas Department of Public Safety was called in to handle the investigation into the cause of the crash. They will share their findings with the public once they have more information.

Accident reports have shown that single-vehicle crashes occur for different reasons. Sometimes, it is a result of a driver’s negligent or impaired state, and at other times, it is by external factors beyond the driver’s control.

To minimize the risk of accidents and fatalities, the authorities have advised drivers to exercise caution on the road. Motorists should drive only when they are mentally and physically sound, with no form of impairment.
