On April 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident. This accident took place at the intersection of US Highway 59 and Farm-to-Market Road 1686 near Inez, Texas. The official accident report has yet to be released, but it should be obtainable within the next two weeks if the family of the decedent obtains a car accident lawyer.
Based on preliminary reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 58-year-old Tammie Hermans was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado north on US Highway 59. 69-year-old Calvin Kuykendall was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer when Hermans’ Chevrolet truck hit him.

There was no information available about what caused the accident. The only information available was that the truck collided with the driver side of the car at the intersection of Farm-to-Market 1686.
Kuykendall sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision. It is not apparent if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Hermans sustained injuries in the accident. Emergency personnel transported the woman from the scene of the accident to Citizens Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. There have been no updates about her condition.
