The woman was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield by the Southern Berkshire Ambulance Squad. They classified her injuries as non-life threatening.
Later in the day, Officer Finnerty observed a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle believed to have struck the woman. It was at the Lipton Mart on Stockbridge Road. After investigating further, Finnerty concluded that it was the vehicle involved in the pedestrian accident from earlier in the morning.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 36-year-old Jamie L. Cartwrightjoyner of Dalton. She admitted to the officers that she had hit something that morning, but she thought it was just a guardrail.
She was issued a summons to the Southern Berkshire District Court with the charges of leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle negligently, and failure to stay within the marked lines on the roadway.
There has not been an update on the woman who was injured in the accident.
