While sitting in his car, an approaching semi decided to break from driving for a while and began to pull off of the road and onto the right shoulder.

While doing this, the right front side of the semi hit the driver’s side of Kerr’s Corolla. This left Kerr with serious injuries.

Upon arriving at the scene, medical personnel transported Kerr to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment. Police were later informed that Kerr had succumbed to his injuries and died while he was at the hospital.

The driver of the semi’s name has not been released at this time. The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Reconstruction Team has been called to investigate the accident. It is possible that the driver of the semi will be facing charges in conjunction with the accident.

The investigation into the early morning accident is currently ongoing. There has not been any indication that the semi driver was injured in the accident.
