The driver who struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene of the accident and did not attempt to flee following the collision.

It is not currently known whether or not impairment, distraction, or reckless driving were factors in the accident.

Following the accident, the road was shut down and traffic was diverted. This enabled police to collect evidence, examine the scene of the accident, and clear the debris from the road. Right now, no charges have been filed. However, this could change in the near future if police believe that criminal wrongdoing has occurred leading up to the accident.

The road has since been reopened and traffic is flowing normally again. The investigation will continue until police discover the true cause of the accident or until they determine that it is impossible to do so.
