In the last few days on California streets, two more people have died, and one is injured in pedestrian versus vehicle accidents.
A vehicle hit and killed Ruby Cervantes, 37, in south Los Angeles on Friday, Feb. 7. The accident occurred at about 6 a.m. at Florence Avenue and St. Andrews Place.

Authorities pronounced Cervantes dead at the scene and the driver who struck Cervantes remained at the scene.
Police are still investigating.
On Monday, Feb. 10, a 46-year-old Sacramento man died at the intersection of Rio Linda Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue in Sacramento.
Paramedics rushed Alejandro Rangel to the hospital after the 6 p.m. accident where hospital personnel pronounced him dead.
The driver who struck the victim, remained at the scene.
It is unclear if Rangel navigated the street while in the crosswalk and the Sacramento Police Department continue to investigate. However, impairment does not appear to be a contributor to the accident.
A car struck down a 14-year-old unidentified boy in Diamond Bar on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
The accident occurred on the 22000 block of Mountain Laurel Way between Pecan Grove Drive and Maple Hill Road at about 7:32 am.
Paramedics took the badly injured boy to Chaparral Middle School where a helicopter met the ambulance and airlifted the boy to the hospital.
In 2017, nearly 6,000 pedestrians died in traffic accidents. On average, that is one pedestrian every 88 minutes, or more than 16 people a day. Most of the pedestrian fatalities, 73 percent, did not occur at intersections, and most happened in the dark.
