Reports indicate that Bean allegedly walked between two vehicles as he crossed Venice Boulevard. The first westbound vehicle clipped the actor and he fell to the ground. Witnesses attempted to warn the second driver, but the attempts failed, and the second vehicle delivered the fatal blow. The second driver allegedly said the people attempting to warn him distracted him, and he looked up just before his vehicle struck Bean, reports stated.

Both drivers stopped and remained at the scene where authorities pronounced Bean dead.

Bean and his wife, well-known actress Alley Mills — “The Wonder Years” — are members of the Pacific Resident Theatre. Bean crossed Venice Boulevard toward the theatre when the vehicles struck him. Reports state Mills was at the scene.

Police did not identify the victim, however, a friend of the actor, who also witnessed the accident, verified that Bean had been the one killed.

In Bean’s nearly 70 years in Hollywood he played a variety of roles in numerous films and TV shows, such as “Desperate Housewives,” “Modern Family,” “The Twilight Zone,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” and “Being John Malkovich.” More recently he appeared in the hit show, “Superstore,” and in the movie “The Equalizer 2.” In all, Bean has appeared in over 100 films or television shows.
