A southbound red sedan struck him at a high speed before fleeing the scene.

Detectives used video of the incident to determine that Ventura was launched 30 to 35 feet by the impact. He ended up in the bed of his tow truck with critical injuries.

On Friday, more than one month after the accident, Ventura released a video from his hospital bed urging the driver to turn themselves in.

The City of Los Angeles is currently offering a $25,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the driver. They ask anyone with details to report to call the LAPD Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3713 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS.
