When officers arrived, they discovered that a northbound vehicle rear-ended a second northbound vehicle stopped at the intersection, pushing both into several parked vehicles.

Bushey said the 43-year-old woman driving the first vehicle was pinned in her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to the preliminary investigation, there were no passengers involved in the collision. At this time, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role.
