VENICE, CA – A woman and her infant child were hit by a car in Venice that was driven by a 16-year-old under the influence of drugs, ABC 7 reports.
The accident occurred near Speedway and Galleon streets on the morning of August 6th. The woman was walking with her infant child in a stroller when she was hit by an oncoming car and tumbled over the hood. Video shows her trying to move out of the way but being unable to avoid a collision.

The driver fled the scene before being stopped by a crowd of bystanders who attempted to kick in the car window. It was later revealed that the 16-year-old driver was in a rental car and until the influence of drugs.
Both victims avoided serious injury and are recovering at home. The driver was released to his parents and is expected in court in October.
