ACTON, CA – A 12-year-old boy was killed and a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash on CA-14/Antelope Valley Freeway in Acton, a town southwest of Lancaster.
KFI AM 640 reports that the fatal collision took place in the northbound lanes of the highway just past Crown Valley Road shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday, April 22. A 2011 Honda Accord rear-ended a 1999 Honda Accord, causing the older vehicle to spin out and come to a stop facing the wrong way across the two left-most lanes.

A 12-year-old boy in that vehicle was killed in the collision, while a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured. A 33-year-old woman and 31-year-old man received only minor injuries. All four were taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, alongside the 23-year-old Lancaster resident who rear-ended their vehicle.
Authorities are investigating to determine whether drugs or alcohol may have played a role. We will update this blog if we learn more about the cause of the fatal crash.
