EL CAJON, CA – KUSI News reported a hit-and-run accident this morning in El Cajon. According to the news report, the collision occurred at 100 West Washington Avenue at around 8:30 a.m.
El Cajon Police were responding to a report of an illegally parked vehicle and found two occupants asleep in an SUV. While attempting to wake the sleeping man and woman, the man suddenly started the vehicle.

One police officer was partially trapped inside the car and was dragged down the road where a Volkswagen struck him. The driver of the Volkswagen then fled the scene.
The officer was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The Volkswagon was later located by the police. Investigators are currently searching for the SUV and its occupants.
