For unspecified reasons, the toxicology report from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office took months to be completed.

However, it shows that Solorio had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16 percent. This is twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

The 32-year-old officer who was a resident of Katy also had Citalopram in her body. This is an antidepressant which should not be mixed with alcohol.

The wrong-way crash occurred in Sealy, Texas around 6:25 a.m. on December 19, 2019.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said Solorio was going in the wrong direction in the westbound lanes of I-10 when she collided with a tractor-trailer.

The authorities said Solorio died on the spot while the tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.

Investigators determined that Solorio’s intoxication contributed to the crash, according to accident reports.

In a statement following the release of the report, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said the department was saddened by the results of the tests.

He recalled that Solorio was promising even from her days in the training academy.

Acevedo said officers in the department were reminded that it was important to practice what they preached to the public.

He pointed out that the HPD takes impaired driving seriously.

Officers have been provided with increased psychological services, chaplain assistance, and peer support services.
