A tragic accident report from Detroit, Michigan, on Sunday, April 26th, revealed that two male cousins lost their lives in a hit-and-run accident. The Detroit Police Department identified the two men who are in their twenties as Teon Williams and Leon Freeman.

The police said that the accident that claimed the lives of the young men occurred at about 11:49 a.m. in the Baylis and Pilgrim area. Williams and Freeman, before the fatal crash, were traveling south in a blue 2001 Pontiac Sunfire when a gray 2017 Dodge Charger going at high speed crashed into them.

The impact of the collision caused the Charger to flip over, but the unidentified driver was able to come out of it and fled the scene east of Pilgrim. Williams and Freeman sustained severe wounds that claimed their lives at the site, and the medics pronounced them.

The police released the description of the hit-and-run driver as a black male between the ages of 18 and 22, light complexion, and wearing green sweatpants at the time. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has information about the suspect’s whereabouts should contact the DPD’s Fatal Squad Unit or Crime Stoppers.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and the investigators will provide updates once they have more information. Over speeding is one of the leading causes of traffic collisions in Michigan and the United States. Traffic officials have advised drivers to maintain the legal speed limit. Witnesses and other road users should report a speeding driver and file an accident report when there’s a crash.
