It’s been almost a month since a report of a car accident that killed a man in San Jose, California, made the news. On Monday, April 20th, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Frank Co, 33.

The San Jose resident died on Friday, March 27th, in an accident that occurred at the intersection of Ruby Avenue and Astrahan Lane at about 8:10 p.m. The San Jose Police Department said that their preliminary investigation uncovered that Co was speeding northbound on Ruby when he crashed.

The man was driving a white 2019 Lexus when he went off the roadway and slammed into a tree. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Co died from the injuries he sustained in the crash, and the medics pronounced him at the scene.

The deceased had an unidentified 35-year-old passenger who the medics took to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There is currently no additional information on the crash.

Co’s death is the 14th traffic fatality that the city has recorded in 2020. Traffic officials are always sharing safety tips with drivers on the best ways to avoid accidents and preserve their lives and that of other road users.

Drivers should drive within the recommended speed limit of each roadway, and ensure that they are not impaired in any way. When a crash occurs, motorists should immediately report the car accident and cooperate with the authorities.
