The Reno Police were called to the scene of a pedestrian hit-and-run accident on Friday, February 21.
Officers were on the scene just after 5:30 in the morning, where they found a body lying in the roadway. The site of the accident was at South McCarran Boulevard west of Longley Lane.

The name of the man has not been released at this time. They are waiting until the next of kin can be notified.
According to the preliminary report, the victim had not been walking in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. At first, they were unaware as to what had happened because there was no vehicle in the area of the body. They also didn’t have a description to go on either.
The Reno Police used all of their resources and finally made an arrest about 12 hours after the initial accident.
The vehicle used in the hit-and-run was identified by using the year, make, and model. Once the police knew the type of vehicle, they were looking for they set out to find it. They found the vehicle that they were looking for in a neighborhood that was near the initial accident scene.
49-year-old Richard Lee Milburn Jr. was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run causing death and for not having a valid registration for the vehicle.
It has not been released by authorities what caused Milburn to hit the pedestrian in the first place. They have not ruled out drugs and/or alcohol is a factor in the accident.
Police have confirmed that the accident did happen in the middle of the block. They are not sure why the pedestrian was on the road in the middle of the block, but it may have played a part in the accident.
