On Thursday morning, February 20th, a car crashed through a wall and fell into an empty swimming pool in Phoenix. The crash happened near 41rst avenue and Dunlap. The driver of the vehicle was an elderly man.

Despite the fact that the car dropped about eight feet down into the empty swimming pool, the man was not injured and walked away from the accident hardly a scratch on him. The only injury he suffered in the accident was a small bump on his forehead.

Ultimately, a crane had to be used to get the car out of the pool. It took hours to lift the vehicle out. There were people in the home when the accident took place. However, no one was injured.

Police are still investigating the accident to determine first, that it was an accident, and not an act of malice, and secondly, exactly what caused the accident. The elderly gentleman did not flee the scene of the accident following the crash. He stayed at the location and spoke with police after he was recovered from the bottom of the pool.

Extensive damage was done to the man’s vehicle, to the wall, and to the pool. So, it is very likely that a lawsuit could ensue between the homeowner and the elderly man who caused the accident.

The car ended up in the deep end of the swimming pool. It is unclear if the car was completely destroyed or not. However, it is clear it will need extensive repairs If it will ever drive again.
